Reports to: Technical Operations Manager

Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality installation and servicing of cable television, data, and digital telephone products and services through delivery, assisting, training and evaluating field technicians and other related field personnel.

Job summary

Summary of essential job functions

  • Assist assigned personnel (employee and independent contractor) to ensure field technicians maintain superior levels of productivity, customer service and compliance with company quality and safety policies.
  • Ensure timely completion of all orders for installation/service and/or proper notification of delays. Work closely with operations management and dispatch to identify and resolve issues resulting in late or incomplete work orders.
  • Conduct on-the-job training in the installation and servicing of cable television, data, and digital telephone products and services for technicians and other related field personnel.
  • Make certain that all equipment in use by employees and contractors is properly utilized and maintained.
  • Inspect and record the quality of work of employees and contractors. Communicate with quality control inspector, field technicians and management concerning quality, safety and other pertinent information as needed.
  • Perform all duties of field technicians (such as field visits to residential and commercial sites to install, service or disconnect cable television, data, and digital telephone products and services. Connect customer equipment to the network and educate the customer on services and equipment being installed).
  • Regular, punctual and consistent attendance. May be required to perform duty during non-business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Minimum requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in cable television, data, and digital telephone products and services.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screening.

Abilities required

  • Ability to assist and motivate personnel to complete assigned work on time and within quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to conduct on-the-job training for various job functions related to cable television, data, and digital telephone products and services based on field technician needs.
  • Previous experience with Arris WorkAssure I&R and ICOMS preferred.
  • Professional, strong work ethic, calm under pressure, enthusiastic, flexible and works well with various personalities.
  • Problem-solving skills and able to think “on-your-feet.”
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications and organizational skills.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at any time day or night. Comfortable with working outside and in customer homes or businesses.
  • Carry and properly utilize extension ladders up to and including 32ft.
  • Ability to climb and work in high places (such as rooftops, utility poles and ladders) and in tight spaces (such as attics and crawl spaces).
  • Lift and carry up to 60 pounds throughout the day.
  • 100% travel within assigned territory
